Responsibilities

As a Permanent Insurance Defense Attorney, you will be tasked with a wide range of duties that will utilize and enhance your skills in insurance defense, product liability, premises liability, and general liability. Your responsibilities will include

Representing clients in court or before government agencies. Presenting evidence to defend clients or prosecute defendants in criminal or civil litigation. Selecting jurors, arguing motions, meeting with judges, and questioning witnesses during the course of a trial. Studying and interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses. Presenting and summarizing cases to judges and juries. Evaluating findings and developing strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases. Preparing legal briefs and opinions, and filing appeals in state and federal courts of appeal. Analyzing the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents. Examining legal data to determine advisability of defending or prosecuting lawsuits. Conducting legal research, preparing for and conducting pre-trial discovery, drafting pleadings, attending depositions, and counseling clients on matters related to litigation.

Qualifications

To be considered for the role of Permanent Insurance Defense Attorney, you must have

A Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. Admission to the state bar and in good standing. A minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance defense, product liability, premises liability, and general liability. Exceptional analytical skills, with a strong ability to draft and review legal documents, manage multiple cases, and oversee legal assistants. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with clients, judges, and other legal professionals. Strong negotiation skills, with a proven track record in achieving favorable settlements for clients. Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite. A commitment to ethical practice and client confidentiality. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, managing multiple tasks and meeting tight deadlines. A proactive approach, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to anticipate potential legal issues.
