📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
The Primary Purpose of the Senior SAP BW/4HANA Developer works as a member of the BI/BW development team and is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, modifying, testing, and implementing Business Intelligence/Business Warehouse (BI/BW) deliverables and supporting the production business intelligence platforms. This role is also assigned development items.
Your Day to Day:Evaluate, interpret and understand Functional and technical specifications for complex developmentConstruct Technical Specification for a solution design which will meet or exceed the functional requirements as described in the Functional SpecificationDevelop (build) the design as described in the Technical Specification in both a legacy BI/BW system and in the BW/4HANA systemDesign, build and execute data extracts and create objects and mappings from SAP ECC, SRM, SCMCreate generic extracts (Function Modules/BADIs) to support customization in ODS and InfoCube objectsDocument data flows from extract to presentation layerMonitor production loads and conduct root cause analysis for all load failuresDocument and conduct unit and system testing as it pertains to new BI/BW and BW/4HANA development and maintenancePerform data quality analysis and data cleansingProvide input and recommendations for technical issues and process improvementsAddress business unit requests and clearly communicate commitments, issues, completion dates and status with the requestor and with managementDesign and implement security for global information delivery within SAP BI/BW and BW/4HANAPerform peer code reviews of team member solutionsInteract and communicate effectively with all technical and functional teamsProvide technical consulting to internal customers and functional SME (subject matter experts)Design, Build and Maintain BW/4HANA objects using LSA++ architectureAnalyze and tune system performance issues as they are encounteredTroubleshoot and Support BW and BW/4HANA landscape
What You Bring to the Team:Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years of SAP Business Intelligence development experience with SAP NetWeaver 7.0 or higher (architecture and toolsets) in a n-tier, BW on HANA, multi-system environment;3+ years of experience working with BW/4HANAExcellent understanding of data warehouse concepts and strategiesExcellent understanding of data extracts, report design and report development.Strong SQL skillsExperience with Design, Build and Maintain CDS Views and AMDPExperience with Design, Build and Maintain SAP HANA Calculation viewsExperience with Design, Build and Maintain ODP data sources, Advance DSOs, composite providersDemonstrated ability to work in SLT and SDIExcellent understanding of databases and database conceptsExperience with Design, Build and Maintain Process ChainsStrong commitment to maintain data integrity.Proven track record for working effectively with both technical and business functionsExperience with data extraction from multiple SAP environments, including ECC, SRM, SCM, TM, etc.Experience in data integration methods from non-SAP legacy databasesExperience working with Analysis for Office (AAO/BOBJ) and third party reporting tools like Power BI, TableauDemonstrated ABAP development skillsDemonstrated ability to understand legacy BW modelling and Redesign/Model/Build in optimized way in BW4HANADemonstrated ability to build and manage data temperatures (hot, warm and cold)Good understanding of HANA SecurityBasic understanding of SAP Analytics and Cloud PlatformStrong transport management skills within/between different SAP applicationsStrong load performance analysis skillsDemonstrated ability to work with multi-divisional business communities to leverage information across the enterpriseExperience with providing internal consulting, recommendations and end user educationExperience across all phases of software development cyclesExperience working in a structured development environmentDemonstrated project management skillsStrong analytical and problem identification and resolution skills.Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work in a diverse environment under aggressive timelinesAbility to work independently and in a team environmentStrong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OutlookMay be required to lift, carry, push or pull up to and including 25 poundsMinimal travel required (0 -10 days per year)Work environment is typical of an office setting
