Position summary: JMT's Facilities - CM Team is seeking a Construction Inspector for the Dallas, TX area. The successful candidate will apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction for structural quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications and codes.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulationsPerforms routine tests on concrete, soils and other materialsMeasure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codesCoordinate and supervise project inspection activities to ensure contractor compliance of plans, contract documents, specifications and standardsWork on behalf of the Client to draft project correspondence, facilitate project meetings, and resolve construction related field issuesGathers and maintains record documentsMakes field notes and computationsInteract with the general public, government agencies, contractors, sub-contractors, and other internal and external parties to respond to inquiriesReside in DFW, TX vicinity

Perform other related duties as assignedAbility to travel within the State on temporary basis if required by the project
Required Skills
Strong Computer proficiencyActive driver’s licenseAble to work throughout the State of Texas on a permanent basis
Required Experience
High school diploma or equivalent10+ years of Construction Inspection ExperienceClient requested certifications
Preferred Experience
Associates or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil EngineeringSupervisory experience in construction management/inspection situationsAbility to act in an Owner’s Agent/Responsible in Charge role
Working Conditions
Work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
