Job Overview
Due to Company growth, we are actively seeking an experienced Substation Commissioning Engineer to join our team in Waltham, MA.
Responsibilities & Duties
Detailed design for transmission or distribution system protection to include relays, communication and monitoring systems, panel meters, control house panels, cables and associated wiring materialsAC and DC schematics and breaker controlsDevelopment of operating and elementary diagramsDevelopment and review of protection schemes and devicesDevelopment and issuing of temporary (mobile) transformer settingsConducting electric system modeling and short circuit analysesDetermination of equipment interrupting ratingsRelay coordination studiesCivil structural and construction design, engineered shoring plans, engineered traffic plansDistribution electrical design (including but not limited to one-lines, construction events)Evaluation of electrical systems for necessary upgrades for interconnectionSpecification and procurement of equipment and materialSystem Protection & Control (SP&C) Design including the creation of SP&C construction drawing packages and the procurement of materialsProvide engineering assistance during testing and commissioning
Qualifications & Skills
Three (3) years or more of Power System Engineering experience with a minimum of 4+ years specifically focus on design for protection and control (P & C)Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Electrical or Power Systems EngineeringIEC61850 standards knowledge Knowledge and experience with ProjectWise Drawings Experience using AutoCAD and PLS-CADDExperience writing design criterion and installation specifications for projectsSkills in developing single-line switching and protection diagrams as well as three-line and DC schematic diagrams
