Katz Banks Kumin LLP, a boutique employment and whistleblower law firm headquartered in Washington, D.C., with offices in San Francisco, CA, Philadelphia, PA, and New York, NY, is now accepting applications for a California or New York-based Counsel position. The Counsel position offers talented, experienced attorneys the opportunity to represent executives and other professionals across a variety of industries with regard to employment and severance agreements, independent contractor and consulting contracts, restrictive covenants, partnership agreements, compensation plans, including equity and other long-term compensation agreements, and other professional arrangements. Counsel are expected to directly advise clients, manage their own caseloads, and assist in the direction of junior attorneys, as necessary. Applicants should have at least seven years of relevant employment law and/or litigation experience, preferably representing executives, and a demonstrated commitment to civil rights issues. Ideal candidates have strong academic credentials; superior analytical, research, writing, and verbal skills; the ability to balance a varied case load; and California and/or New York Bar membership obtained prior to starting with the firm. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Compensation for the Counsel position is $134,000-$250,000 per year, based on years of legal experience. The Counsel’s compensation also includes discretionary bonuses, origination credit opportunities, and a generous benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan contributions, and other benefits.
