Kelly Science has an immediate opening for a Laboratory Supervisor & Technical Support Coordinator for our growing client in North Chicago, ILFull-timeDirect HireSalary: $70,000-$85,000 DOESummary of Key Responsibilities:This role combines two critical functions: Laboratory Supervision and Technical Support Coordination. Responsibilities include:Lab Supervision:Act as the primary resource for technical guidance in molecular biology techniques to junior staff.Coordinate and direct day-to-day activities of laboratory personnel, including scheduling, task delegation, and performing routine and non-routine testing.Ensure adherence to procedures and protocols to maintain best practices and regulatory compliance.Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, mentoring, annual evaluations, and disciplinary actions of laboratory personnel.Monitor customer device and cartridge orders, data, and testing schedules.Assist with data uptake, report generation, environmental monitoring, and internal QC testing.Coordinate external equipment calibrations and in-house instrument maintenance.Recommend process improvements, contribute to SOPs/SWIs design, and manage laboratory inventory.Technical Support Coordinator:Monitor and respond to lab support emails, answering customer questions and acting as the chief technical resource for verification and problem-solving.Coordinate development of improved technical competency through coaching, training, and evaluating equipment software upgrades.Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external meetings.Serve as the primary point of contact for testing results and technical inquiries.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences or Biochemistry.3-5+ years of experience in a biological sciences laboratory in a production capacity.1-3+ years of laboratory leadership experience.Expertise in molecular biology techniques, RT-PCR, ELISA testing, bead-based multiplex assays, and enzymatic biochemical assays.Strong leadership, problem-solving, interpersonal, and analytical skills.Positive attitude, willingness to coach staff, and ability to prioritize and resolve complex situations.
