Financial Controller, Americas

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller, Americas, to join Kirk Key, which is part of the Sentric Safety Group.

Position Summary: Manage and direct the Company’s financial management, general accounting, internal control environment, and group and local financial reporting requirements. Responsibility over business unit risk and compliance, legal, tax, and payroll. Collaborate operationally and strategically across all functions while supporting a business partnership with the General Manager. Oversee all employees within local finance department.

Essential Duties: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Serve as an active local management team member of the Kirk Key business unit and support the global Sentric Safety Group management teams as required. Provide high quality business financial reporting, insight, and constructive challenge to facilitate robust commercial and operational decision making.Business partner with the Company teams by providing actionable insight to support improvements in their financial performance.

Financial and Risk ManagementResponsible for all Kirk Key business unit financial reporting requirements, including statutory and IFRS monthly and half-year reporting, monthly forecasting, as well as the annual budget submissions. Ensure timeliness of financial reporting and budgeting within required submission deadlines. Present and discuss business unit financial results during monthly Business Review Responsible for ensuring monthly account reconciliations are prepared and reviewed.Monitor and ensure adherence to proper internal control structure over all financial processes and procedures assisted by the Accounting ManagerResponsible for the completion of the bi-annual internal control checklist submission and resolution of any identified internal control deficiencies. Work directly with internal and external auditors as required. Manage requests of and activities with group insurance representatives and legal counsel as needed in conjunction with global management team and local general manager.

Accounting OperationsMonitor and ensure adherence to the credit policy in collaboration with the Accounting Receivable ManagerReview aged debtor accounts monthly with the Accounts Receivable Manager and support collection efforts where needed.Ensure company compliance with corporate contract risk rules and parameters by fully evaluating customer or vendor contracts and escalating for approval based on corporate authorization thresholds. Monitor vendor payments and ensure adherence to expenditure policies in collaboration with the Accounts Payable team including the Concur travel and expense system and related polices. Ensure banking relationship and oversight of all cash and banking related controls. Manage bi-weekly payroll processing with the assistance of Accounting Manager and Human Resources. Oversee in-progress global implementation of Workday for payroll. Ensure registrations, tax authorization and filings are completed in a timely manner over a variety of taxations including business, sales, and payroll taxes. Work closely with Operations team on inventory accuracy and costing, including bi-annual physical inventory counts and provision exercises. All other ad-hoc projects and duties as assigned or required.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field. CPA required. 7-10 years’ experience of financial senior management experience required.
