NXL is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to work at our Christiansburg, VA office on a wide range of interesting projects including NPDES/ TMDL, stormwater management, water resources, and transportation related projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

Qualified applicants must have

5 to 10 years of project experience in water resources engineering Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil, Environmental, or other related Engineering with an emphasis in water resources Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong motivation to develop a range of water resources design skills and to work with a team approach Valid driver's license with demonstrated safe driving practices

Desired (preferred) qualifications include:

Experience using MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, or ArcMAP/GIS Completion of (or plan to complete) the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE/EIT) Exam Related MDOT design experience Maryland design experience for stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, hydrologic/ hydraulic modeling, or NPDES/ TMDL related services

Some typical types of work assignments for this position are outlined below .

Prepare designs for drainage, stormwater management and erosion and sediment control Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling analyses Perform field investigations and evaluate existing conditions Prepare engineering documents (plans, specifications, estimates) for review and approval Assist with permitting for local, state, and federal agency approvals Occasionally travel to project/client sites to complete tasks or attend meetings
