📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Job Summary
Industrial Manufacturing Services (IMS), now part of Kloeckner Metals Corporation, is looking for a Metalworking Production Operator to work 1st Shift. This position includes operation of various metalworking machinery (ex – press brakes, mills, lathes, saws, grinder, etc.) for the purpose of fabricating high precision parts.
1st shift works from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. and must be open to working overtime
Job Responsibilities
Operation of metalworking machinery for forming, bending, turning, milling and/or cutting steel.Other metalworking positions include general labor for loading and unloading machines and deburring/grinding for manual weld spatter removalPerform routine operations including loading raw material and start-up/shut down of equipmentMonitor machine performance regarding accuracy of quantity and quality output, making adjustments as neededPerform basic preventative and routine machine maintenanceManual assembly of product with use of manual and powered toolsProper stacking and protection of parts as required to maintain specified quality standardEnsure accuracy of parts produced by visual inspection and/or by use of standard inspection instruments (i.e., micrometers, calipers, etc.).Submit first and last piece production for Quality Control approvalEnter data on production reports regarding shop orders worked on, quantity produced, time worked, etc.Follow and verify all instruction provided by work orders and customer blueprintsNotify supervision of problems with equipment and/or tooling that may cause defects/lost timeComply with all safety practices and Company policiesPerform basic housekeeping duties.Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Ability to accurately read blueprints, is a plusPrior metalworking, construction, or mechanical trade experience, is idealAble to pass background check
Working Conditions
Fast paced environment that includes constant standingRepetitive; moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
