Korn Ferry has partnered with our client in the healthcare industry in their search for a Controller, offering a unique opportunity for professional growth and development. The Controller will work directly with the Chief Financial Officer to report on the monthly financial performance of operations, maintain all accounting records, and manage the accounting team. The person leads audits and collaborates with internal departments on processes and the company's needs.
Job Responsibilities: Collaborate with senior management to develop annual budgets and forecasts.Conduct variance analysis to identify key drivers of financial performance.Provide insightful financial analysis to support decision-making processes.Oversee all aspects of cost accounting, ensuring accurate and timely reporting. Analyze trends and recommend improvements.Implement and maintain cost control measures to optimize operational efficiency.Lead the month-end close process, including reconciliation of general ledger accounts.Prepare and analyze financial statements, providing explanations for variances.Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.Lead annual accounting audit and drive to fruition.Review & pay taxes promptly.Collaborate with procurement and pharmacy to reconcile inventory accounts, ensuring accuracy and reliability.Implement inventory control procedures to minimize carrying costs.Collaborate with finance and operations teams to optimize inventory levels.Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets. Identify and address areas of financial risk.
Education and QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldCPA required 7+ years of public accounting and/or corporate experience in a similar role, preferably in a post-acute healthcare environmentProficient in MS Outlook, Word, and ExcelAbility to cope with ambiguous, changing environments while under pressure.Must be able to work as a team member and develop productive and cooperative working relationships. Must be willing to travel 2 days a week to work in the Columbia, SC office.
