Our client is a privately held, real estate firm focused on acquiring, owning, developing, and managing real estate properties across the Southeastern United States.

Our client is a fully integrated investor, developer and operator of real estate and targets best-in-class risk-adjusted returns through investments in residential commercial and special situation opportunities. Our client targets investments that are expertly sourced, structured, and executed that provide value not only through origination but also through the deep operational and construction expertise of the firm.

Purpose of the position:The Vice President of Investments will act as a player-coach, functioning as a deal quarterback on the firm’s acquisition of multifamily development and investment properties, build-to-rent and single-family homes, and special situations across the East Coast and Sunbelt.

Key ResponsibilitiesThe role will encompass the following key responsibilities:Lead deal execution, including due diligence process, creation of Investment Memoranda and closing of acquisitions / dispositions.Manage, and mentor the Investments team, assist the Managing Partners in building a high-performing team and implementing processes to support their success.Source, initial screen and direct underwriting for potential acquisitions and other investments.Direct the analysis of target markets, identify market trends, and translate these insights into actionable investment strategies.Develop and maintain strong relationships with property owners, brokers, and industry contacts critical to our acquisitions efforts.Oversee best practices for due diligence efforts, including financial, physical, and market analysis, ensuring alignment with various key areas of the company.Identify and maintain robust investment opportunity pipeline.Manage and/or supervise multiple in-process and planned projects at various stages of the investment cycle.Assist in enhancing the investment process within the company, constantly seeking ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness.Cultivate relationships with industry peers, brokers, tenants, capital providers, project managers and consultants to gain knowledge on all aspects of the investment business, a business intelligence tool.

The Candidate:The ideal candidate will most likely possess 8 + years of acquisitions experience within the real estate industry. This person could come from a real estate private equity investment firm, private operator, apartment REIT or a hands-on capital allocator.

Specific qualifications include:Minimum of 8+ years of experience in originating and structuring real estate transactions, leading and managing an investments team, and demonstrating a strong understanding of value-add investing and risk management.Experience in multifamily investment and acquisitions across a range of strategies a plus.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including data modelling, research, quantitative, and analytical skills.Exceptional client-facing skills and service orientation.Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders and effectively communicate complex issues both verbally and in writing to senior management and clients.Highly self-motivated with the ability to work effectively independently and within a fast-paced, team environment, while being highly organized and skilled at prioritization and time management.Results-driven, with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in performance, and an adaptable, effective problem-solver who can quickly assess situations and provide creative solutions.Financial analysis abilities (e.g. NPV, IRR, lease comparison, ROI, DCF modelling, payback, analyze financial statements, etc.) with a proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Argus required.
