Associate, IT Disaster Recovery- Contractor

KPMG is working through its partnership with MBO and is currently seeking a remote contractor.
Responsibilities
Assist on IT Disaster Recovery (DR) exercises coordination and collaborate IT Disaster recovery initiatives to enhance internal services consumed by stakeholders; participate in IT Disaster Recovery improvements program and innovation projects related to the IT DR services offered; help with Disaster Recovery Exercises planning process and collaborate in recovery activities coordination during actual eventsEngage in DR Exercise planning process, execution, and post-test activities; collaborate with key business stakeholders to develop the DR Exercise reports and gaps remediations resulted from DR exercisesAdvocate for assuring IT Disaster Recovery Plans includes the recovery procedures and application configurations needed to respond to a real outage or disaster for re stablishing the business operation in the disaster recovery site or alternate region; work together with SMEs and stakeholders from applications teams to develop and manage Disaster Recovery Plans, as well as implementing controls to increase the resiliency for critical applicationsPartake in gap analysis on DRP/BCP processes to propose enhancements and collaborate in the post incident analysis disaster/outages for DRP/BCP improvements; participate in the development of business cases for the use of automation to improve DRP/BCP efficiency, reduce risk, increase resiliency, and reduce costsMonitor and report on IT Disaster Recovery Team’s service Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Service Level Objectives (SLO) and manage the IT Disaster Recovery Team’s data, metadata, and documentationJoin in internal forums for the adoption of new technologies, best practices, and methodologies for improving the services offered by IT Disaster Recovery team; take part in Scrum ceremonies, stories definition and development
QualificationsMinimum one year of recent experience participating in IT Disaster Recovery Exercises and maintaining Disaster Recovery plansBachelor's degree from an accredited college/university preferredFamiliar with recovery engineering concepts pertaining to networking, storage, compute, database, middleware, cloud solutions, and resilient application (local and geographic redundancy)Proven experience with Agile and Continuous Service Improvement conceptsSolid experience on migrations from on prem environment to cloud solutions is a plus, but not requiredBe available (on-call and/or stand by) during shift, weekends, and after hours to coordinate recovery activities during a major outage or actual IT disaster

The pay rate range(s) displayed is/are specifically for those contracted who will perform work in or reside in the location(s) listed below, if selected for the role. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including market data, ranges, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees, and certifications (e.g., JD, technology), and specific location, for example. Additionally, applicants may be required to apply and become employed by a service provider utilized by KPMG, and final pay rate(s) and/or eligibility for additional benefits may be determined by such provider.
$45-55 hourly (USD)
