KPMG is currently seeking a Tax Associatefor our Business Tax Services practice.
Responsibilities
Prepare and review fiduciary tax returns, including Forms 1041, 5227, 990, 990-PF, 1040 and 1099Analyze trust accounting data, trust documents, Schedules K-1, Forms 1099 and other relevant information to determine tax treatment of income and deductionsCommunicate with clients to gather necessary information and address tax-related questions and concernsCollaborate with senior tax professionals to ensure compliance with federal and state tax laws and regulationsRespond to tax notices from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and state taxing authoritiesIdentify process improvement and automation opportunities and work with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy solutions across the practice
Qualifications
Must be pursuing and have obtained by the start date or have completed the following degrees/majors in the past 12 months: Bachelor's and/or Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, Trust Administration, or a related fieldPreferred GPA of 3.0 or aboveHave or pursuing the state-specific education requirements to be a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the principal place of business (the state in which the office is located) for this position preferredBasic knowledge of trust, estate, individual, or exempt organization taxation and/or tax information reporting preferredStrong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentProficiency in tax software (CCH Axcess, ONESOURCE Trust Tax) preferredDemonstrated quality service mindset; strong technical aptitude with excellent written/verbal communication and critical thinking skills; ability to navigate MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and OutlookMust reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office for this position and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using own means of transportation, such as a personal vehicle or public transportationMust be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
