The work schedule for this position will be: Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday, 7:00 pm - 7:00 am
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteriaPerform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating ProceduresMonitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionalityDemonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controlsReport accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient carePerform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
Requirements
BA/BS degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or other related science or all required city/state licenses or permits to qualify as a TechnologistMust hold one of the following: ASCP, AMT, or equivalent certification OR current Tennessee state licensureMinimum of 1 year of previous clinical lab experience is requiredHigh level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skillsMust be able to pass a standardized color vision screen

FLU - New Team Members will be required to present proof of influenza immunization or will be given the influenza vaccine during the pre-employment screening by Occupational Medicine or during hospital orientation between September 1 and March 31. Dates may be extended based upon community flu burden. New Team Members employed outside of months when influenza vaccine is available will be informed of the policy and will be expected to comply with vaccination the next influenza season.
