Senior Technical Procurement Specialist

The Senior IT Procurement Specialist is a key player in strategic procurement activities, aligning with IT goals and objectives. This includes leading the evaluation and selection of IT vendors, negotiating contracts, and overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of IT contracts. The role extends to managing the IT inventory associated with these contracts, ensuring accurate tracking, optimization, and effective utilization of resources. Building strong relationships with vendors, collaborating for innovation, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies are paramount responsibilities.

Essential FunctionsDevelop and execute strategic procurement plans aligned with IT goals and objectives.Lead the evaluation and selection of IT vendors, negotiating contracts to optimize costs and quality.Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of IT contracts, from drafting to negotiation and execution.Ensure compliance with legal requirements, company policies, and industry standards.Manage the IT inventory associated with contracts, ensuring accurate tracking and optimization.Build and maintain strong relationships with IT vendors and suppliers.Collaborate with vendors to drive innovation, address issues, and improve overall performance.Provide leadership and guidance to a team of procurement professionals.Mentor and coach team members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in IT procurement processes.Conduct regular analyses of spending patterns and implement cost-effective solutions.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, legal, and operations, to ensure alignment and synergy.Act as a strategic partner in supporting IT initiatives through effective procurement.Assess and mitigate risks associated with IT procurement activities.Stay informed about industry trends and potential risks to inform decision-making.Ensure compliance with procurement policies, industry regulations, and contractual obligations.Conduct regular compliance audits and implement corrective actions as needed.

Knowledge Skills Abilities and Education RequiredBachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.Proven experience as a Senior IT Procurement Specialist or similar role.Strong negotiation and contract management skills.Leadership experience with the ability to lead and develop a team.In-depth knowledge of IT procurement processes, best practices, and market trends.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
