In 2021, Lakefield team members were able to be a part of opening the first and only veterinary clinic in the Galapagos.

What you'll do (Essential Functions)

Foster a culture built on our values: Respect, Learning, Do the Right Thing, WOW Service, and FunProvide professional, efficient, quality medical care and exceptional service to clients while maintaining maximum productivity.Obtain patient medical history from the client and referring veterinarians as neededPerform initial evaluation of pet's condition, collect information from client, observe pet's behavior, and checks vital statistics.Complete preparatory procedures and assist the Veterinarian throughout the rest of the examination, diagnosis, procedures, and treatment phasesRestrain pets during exams as neededCreate and maintain patient medical records and documentationObtain and prepare various samples including blood, urine, and fecal samples for diagnostic testing.Perform laboratory tests on samples and update the patient's medical chartEducate clients about pet health needs, nutrition, and preventative carePerform X-rays and provide results to the VeterinarianFill prescriptions under the direction of a VeterinarianAdminister injectionsand medication with supervision and under the direction of a veterinarianPerform venipunctures, catheterization, and other procedures under supervision of a veterinarianPrepare patient, medications, and equipment for surgerySupport a practice environment that promotes collaboration and teamwork and ensure the delivery of quality, compassionate, effective, and efficient health care to petsComply with all practice policies, quality assurance guidelines, and minimum standards of carePerform other duties or projects as requested

Required Qualifications

Education

Associate degree from a two-year veterinary technology program with accreditation from the American Veterinary Medicine Association (AVMA).

Professional Licenses/Certifications

WA state Veterinary Technician License with credential in good standingSuccessful completion of the Veterinary Technician National Examination

Skills, Ability and Knowledge
