Senior Electrical Engineer

Compensation: Estimated $115,000 to $160,000 annual salary based on experience plus bonus opportunities

Hybrid Location: Midland Park, NJ, or Goshen, NY office (Assessment for hybrid work arrangement after a 90-day in-office training period)

Work Schedule: Potential for 3 days in the office and 2 from home, subject to client needs and manager approval

Senior Electrical Engineer Job Summary:LAN Associates, Engineering Planning, Architecture Surveying, Inc. ("LAN") is a mid-sized multi-disciplined architectural and engineering firm. We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team! This position provides an opportunity to develop new skills working on a variety of building projects and advance in their career. The candidate will be responsible for performing many electrical design and drafting tasks using prescribed methods and standard techniques. The candidate will also have the opportunity to work directly with clients and mentor junior staff. LAN offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and a premier benefits package.

Senior Electrical Engineer Responsibilities:Mentor and encourage the development of junior designer-level staffCoordinate and design various electric projects conforming to applicable industrystandards and regulatory requirementsPerform engineering-related tasks required for project development, design, and constructionPrepare proposals and participate in the proposal submission processCollaborate with architects, owners, other engineering disciplines, vendors, building officials, other consultants, etc., throughout the design phases of the building projectPerform office construction administration, including review of shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and coordinating with contractors, design team, building officials, owner, etc., through the construction phase of the building projectAssist/perform job site observations as necessaryAssist with proposals, marketing, project reports, and technical presentationsAssist with the scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasksDevelop and complete applications, permits, engineering reports, and specificationsAttend and conduct client and project meetingsAttend various meetings, including pre-design, plan review, pre-construction, professional organization, staff, etc.Utilize electrical design calculations such as electrical loads, equipment sizing, feeder sizing, and voltage drop

Senior Electrical Engineer Required Qualifications:Minimum of 10+ years experience in commercial building projects (preferred) Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field Preferred to PE (Professional Engineer) certification, or EIT certification with goals to get PE certified (NJ & NY Preferred)Proficient with computer-aided design and drafting software such as AutoCADKnowledge of NFPA, NEC, IEEE, ANSI, electrical equipment standards, and building codes is requiredMust have external client-facing experience related to building project constructionPrevious experience mentoring a team of junior engineersAbility to read and understand construction documents including project plans, specifications, and shop drawingsStrong ability to manage projects and teams, including the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple assignments without direct supervisionMust have strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel for load calculationsMust have a valid driver's license and be willing to perform local job site travel as needed (Up to 20% within the Tri-State Area)

Senior Electrical Engineer Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience within an architectural and engineering firmREVIT experience is a plusPower analysis design software experience is a plus
