Job Description

The Senior Benefits Specialist is responsible for managing and administering employee benefits programs, including but not limited to health, dental, vision, life insurance, compensation, and retirement plans. This role will work closely with employees, HR, and external vendors to ensure that benefits programs are competitive, compliant, and meet the needs of the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of benefits administration, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Duties/Responsibilities: The duties listed below are an outline of the role’s responsibilities and should not be considered an all-inclusive list. As the needs of the organization change, these duties may be modified as needed.

Administer and manage employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, FSA, HSA, and wellness programs.Collaborate with HR, employees, and external vendors to ensure benefits programs are competitive, compliant, and meet the needs of the organization.Assist with the open enrollment process, orchestrating seamless communication, conducting engaging benefits orientations, and simplifying enrollment procedures for employees.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by staying up to date on legislation.Analyze benefits options and cost alternatives for providing employee benefits.Process and maintain all status reports and pay changes, both on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis.Respond to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes, and other general inquiries.Assist with compensation projects such as marketing pricing, pay analysis and reporting and pay structure maintenance as required.Document and maintain bonus plans, ensuring transparency and alignment with the organizational goals.Perform plan audits and prepare materials for compliance.Analyze weekly discrepancy reports and collab with vendors to prescribe solutions and trouble shoot enrollment issues.Review payroll corrections and requests, addressing discrepancies promptly and collaborating with payroll teams accordingly.Manage Vendor relationships related to benefits administration, including billing reconciliation and payment processing.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, a related field or equivalent experience.3-5 years of experience in benefits administration.Professional certification in benefits administration, such as CEBS, is a plus.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to benefits administration.Experience with benefits enrollment systems and HRIS.Exposure to compensation process and practices is a plus.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment

The work of a Senior Benefits Specialist will be performed in an office environment with adequate lighting and temperature control.Travel: less than 5%
