Summary Of Role
The Director of Radiobiology will provide expertise in biological effects of radiopharmaceuticals to inform product development work at Lantheus. This person will identify key questions to be answered, find the best partners to help us answer those questions, work closely with those partners to design experiments, and translate the results of scientific research into pragmatic suggestions.
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Provide subject matter expertise on biological effects of therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals in oncology, including effects on immune response, to guide product development decisionsIdentify external partners in academia and industry with whom Lantheus can collaborate to advance our understanding of the mechanisms and effects of radiopharmaceuticalsLead research efforts with those partners aimed at guiding Lantheus’ strategy for selection of radiopharmaceuticals for development, including:Expected clinical performance of various isotope and molecule combinationsDetermination of mechanisms of actionPotential for effective combination therapies with radiopharmaceuticals, such as immuno-oncologyTranslation of animal model results to clinical studiesWork closely with other Lantheus departments, such as Research & Pharmaceutical Development, Clinical Development, and Medical Affairs to prioritize research areas and approachesPresent research findings and implications to both internal and external audiences
Basic Qualifications
PhD in a relevant scientific area such as molecular biology, cell biology, or immunology10+ years of experience in radiopharmaceuticals, either in industry or academia
Preferred Skills And Experience
Education or experience in immunologyEducation or experience in cancer biologyDesign and conduct of animal model studies of radiopharmaceutical therapiesProduct development
