Sr. Accountant - Remote

Stakeholder Overview:LCG Advisors is conducting an exclusive search for a privately held e-commerce Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) company in the Food and Beverage industry. The Candidate MUST live in one of these states for tax purposes NY, GA, MA, FL, WV, NV, OR, TX, OH, CO, NH or WA (will be verified).

The Role:The Sr. Accountant role is remote, reports directly to the Accounting Manager, and is part of a rapidly growing company. They will initially be an individual contributer, be very hands on, and work closely with and support the Accounting Manager, finance team, and the various department heads. The candidate will own and/or be involved in most aspects of the monthly close and day-to-day accounting function, and support the annual audit process. They understand how critical it is to record revenue and expenses in a manner that supports finance planning and analysis function initiatives (budget vs. actual, profitability analysis, etc.).The initial key objectives are to assist with and or help improve the following:Close Process – Take over and improve on the existing process and book journal entriesInventory / COGs – Lead the Inventory, COGs / Cost AccountingAssist with Sales Tax and 1099 filingsPerform periodic reconciliations (bank, credit cards, etc.) to support the month-end and other functionsHelp with the implementation and adoption of NetSuiteVariances - Partner closely with the FP&A team to help give context to month-end variances (P&L, BS, etc) and their driversDay-to-Day Duties – Assume various day-to-day duties related to treasury management, AP, expense management, order-to-cash and procure-to-pay cycles, or other areas as requiredAdministrative – Assume various administrative duties related to income and sales taxes, insurance, or other areas as required

The Ideal Candidate:The ideal candidate will be a tech-savvy finance professional with 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience. They take a logical, data-centric approach to problems and have experience in a fast-paced, medium-sized D2C consumer packaged goods (“CPG”) manufacturing or highly transactional e-commerce/SaaS business. They have experience operating NetSuite and leveraging its suite of modules and add-on plugins to drive efficiencies. They should possess strong knowledge of other business systems (CRM, payroll, Shopify, Amazon, Xero, Avalara, etc.) and their interplay with NetSuite. They are experienced in all aspects of the month-end close process and have experience/exposure with the following: inventory and cogs, , procure-to-pay cycles, commissions, T&E, payroll, taxes, insurance, and supporting a solid internal control environment.

They should also have best-in-class experience in a recognized firm (e.g., public accounting or consulting) or recognized Company or experience working with institutional investors (PE-backed companies).

The candidate should possess above-average skills in Excel (sumifs, pivots, xlookup, index match, etc.), and be experienced in working with large data sets and multifaceted spreadsheets.

Core Duties/Responsibilities:· Assists with the month-end close process and perform month-end reconciliations as required· Lead the sales taxes (Avalara) and 1009 filings· Lead the accounting for the inventory and Cogs.· Support the Accounting Manager and finance function by giving context to month-end variances and their respective drivers· Support the Accounting Manager and finance function by assisting them with implementing various initiatives such as: annual budgeting, implementing revenue and product profitability models· Assist the Accounting Manager with the implementation of NetSuite and related add-ons· Assist the Accounting Manager to automate and optimize the accounting function by leveraging and becoming a subject matter expert in related technologies (Netsuite, Shopify, CRM, Power-BI, etc.).· Work closely with leadership, finance and marketing to implement and maintain periodic (daily, weekly, monthly, etc..) KPIs.· Assumes various day-to-day and administrative duties as required.· Lead the annual audit process

Required Qualifications:· Minimum of 5-7 years total accounting experience with increased responsibilities, with preference given to those with a National CPA firm or audit background· Two years of tax experience, specifically managing sales tax in Avalara and 1099s.· e-commerce Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) or SaaS experience in a CPG company· Three years of inventory/COGS management in a CPG company· Experience with Xero and two years of experience with NetSuite· Experience with all aspects of the month-end close process, monthly variance investigations, and supporting the finance function· Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP and experience running an audit· Strong understanding of ERPs and their interplay with other business systems (CRM, payroll, A/P, BI tools)· Best-in-class experience in a recognized firm (e.g., public accounting or consulting) or Fortune recognized Company.· Possess above-average skills in Excel (sumifs, pivots, xlookup, index match, etc..) and experience working with large data sets and multifaceted spreadsheets.· Excellent communication, writing, and relationship-building skills.

Preferred Qualifications:· Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or equivalent· Public accounting

Educational Requirements:· Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Equivalent· CPA or advanced degree is preferred
