📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Are you looking to work for a company that provides an innovative work environment, and your voice is heard? We have a need for a Technical Specialist within Calibration to work in Chelsea Mi. This is an onsite role that will require travel for test trips.
Calibration and development of engine control features for the 2023MY flex fuel program. This includes engine start, transient fuel, ethanol sensor, evaporative emissions, and catalyst temperature management.Responsible for coordination of several development trips throughout the year.Lead engineer responsible for calibration/release of Body 6.4L engine control system. Responsibilities include optimizing emissions, fuel economy and drivability for all environmental and load conditions.Participate in all quality gate reviews for responsible programs. Quality gate documents updated to incorporate the latest deliverables. Report & escalate issues as necessary. Execute mitigation plans.Ensure D&E calibrations meet QG deliverables. Deliver vehicle emissions at or below goal. Evaluate and store test data (trip & overnight) in Datanav. Complete calibration releases per DVP plan. Provide documentation to support each CN (change notice).Respond to all open GIMS with root cause determined within 30 days and identify corrective actions within 90 days. Update GIMS as issue status changes (investigation status, interim containment plans, etc).Report emissions results using E2R. Demonstrate robust emissions by optimizing key calibration functions enablers (i.e. starts, transient fuel, fuel shut off, torque reserve for catalyst light off, DCFC, etc.).Use AVL Drive at VP, PS and V1 to identify lowest rated D&E issues and address them for the PS release. Demonstrate improvement for all individual events < 7.0 and average < 7.5.Work with the Quality organization to root cause and address CQI issues.Prep vehicles with latest calibrations. Document issues to closure.Actively support CoE (Center of Excellence) & calibration status meetings.Complete & validate D&E calibrations by PS release. Ensure any post PS changes are necessary (GIMS, required customer improvement, or emissions compliance) and are supported with data and appropriate reviews conducted with management.Minimize test trip duration by using FCA climatic chambers when possible. Minimize costs by coordinating cross-functionally and between applications when possible. Utilize development tools to improve trip productivity for data collection and post-processing. Document trip results for review by management & store on team drive.Assist with the development of tools for improved calibration efficiency and quality.Support the Advanced team with TRL implementation for new evaporative system features.Transient Fuel CoE Team – Evaporative system feature expert.
