About The Role
The Senior Production Manager provides leadership and expertise in establishing and maintaining an efficient manufacturing program in support of the division’s strategic plan. This position is responsible for coordinating resources and supervising the manufacturing of scheduled production. In addition, this position ensures that scheduled production requirements are met within set budgeted and quality requirements in a safe and orderly manner.
Responsibilities
Provide the operational leadership of the production organization to meet production requirements for on time delivery, quality, and cost Develop, monitor, maintain, and improve key performance indicators to measure production performance to targets and daily metrics of production goals vs. achievementsInvestigates system and process related problems, recommends, and implements corrective actionsTake immediate steps to remove obstacles to meeting production goalsEnsure production staffing is in place to support capacity and training requirementsEnsure the quality of all products being manufactured in their respective areas are being metClose collaboration and teamwork with supply chain, quality, manufacturing engineering, and customer service organizations to constantly improve efficiency and reduce lead timesDetermines parts supply, maintenance tasks, safety procedures, and service schedule required to maintain machines and equipment in prescribed conditionEnsure that ISO procedures are followed and improvedPrepare cost and budget estimates in support of the budgeting processDevelop and maintain operator efficiency and quality through measurement and reporting of performanceOperates the department in a manner that supports established budgets for volume, scrap and laborProvide the support and resources to maintain a proactive safety programPerforms management duties including, but not limited to: interviewing and hiring employees, planning, training, scheduling, assigning and directing work, evaluating, appraising and rewarding performance, disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problemsDrives process improvement, sees that all projects have accountability, and that promise dates are met
Qualifications
Must have demonstrated leadership skills to manage staff as well as interact with other functions to successfully achieve results in a proactive, positive wayMust be able to demonstrate leadership, provide tactical supervision, and effectively delegate prioritized work assignments to subordinate staffMust have excellent communication and team skills to create and effectively maintain positive work environment with co-workers and managementMust have prior experience hiring employees, directing work, and appraising performanceMust be able to exercise independent judgment with limited instruction and guidanceMust possess a working knowledge of mechanical, automation and Work Cell style manufacturing equipment and processes
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree requiredMinimum 10 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment required including previous management experience leading production organizationsMinimum 4-6 years management experience requiredExperience using ERP systems (Oracle, SAP or other equivalent systems)
