Litigation Paralegal - Arbitration/Investigations
📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Our client, a London-based law firm specializing in cross border dispute resolution and litigation seeks a temp or temp-to-perm litigation paralegal with a minimum of 3+ years of litigation experience to assist attorneys in various types of arbitration, litigation and investigation work. This is a hybrid role working 3 days on-site /2 days off. Their office is located in midtown Manhattan. Very competitive hourly rate $35-$50 depending on qualifications.
Responsibilities:Gather, organize, summarize and index documents/chronologies for cases which are fact/document heavy.Draft correspondence, routine pleadings and motions, disclosure requests and responses according to judicial procedures and other related documents.Prepare and maintain documents and bundles to be used at hearings and proceedings (hard copies and soft copy PDFs, including pagination).Liaise directly with clients and third parties, especially as regards document collection and management.Set up and manage hardcopy and electronic case files.Proofread arbitration and litigation and other documents and cite check draft briefs.Conduct business and legal research, analyzing statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions and other legal sources.Make regular trips to court to file documents.File management – update shared drives and hard copy folders with key documents.Assist with client interviews and witnesses and prepares summaries of statements.Assist attorneys with preparation for depositions and trials, which may include attending depositions, trials and other hearings.Maintain and develop know-how/precedents filing and database.Tracks cases on Bloomberg Law/ and in the media.Assist with client interviews and witnesses and prepare summaries of statements.Assists attorneys with preparation for depositions and trials, which may include attending depositions, trials and other hearings.Utilizes trial software at trials and other arbitrations, as needed.Communicates with the courts regarding ordering transcripts of hearings.Communicates with court reporting vendors to set up court reports for arbitration.Handles conflict checks on a one-off basis, if needed.Manage document translation with external providers as necessary.
Strong technical skills in all Microsoft Office and Internet applications.
