Job Description

Position Summary

Act as a CNC Machinist and Subject Matter Expert in our metal alloy production group. Responsible for programming, machining, and packaging of metal alloys into finished products. Follow work instructions to complete shop orders in a timely manner. Ensure the quality and accuracy of finished orders.

Roles And Responsibilities

Apply best practices and techniques to maximize profitability in producing quality partsComplete special projects as assignedCreate, edit, and execute the use of programs on all equipmentSafely utilize equipment such as Lathe, Mill, Saw, or Laser EngraverFollow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or safety officerEnsure all work areas are safe, clean and organized at all timesHelp to write procedures consistent with LGC’s Quality System as neededHelp maintain supply inventory, including reordering of supplies and auditing supply inventoryPerform assigned duties using IFS including but not limited to inventory adjustments, entering labor time, and adjusting shop order quantities as needed to facilitate work flow through DSPMaintain inventory of components using our ERP systemPerform hazardous waste coordinator duties including inspections and waste pickupsExemplify the LGC core values on a day to day basisMaintain, monitor, and repair equipment as neededAssist in the NPD process associated with machining production

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications

Essential

Associates degree with exposure to science (e.g. chemistry or biology); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience strongly preferredMicrosoft Office skills and ERP system familiarity requiredProficient in mathStrong attention to detail, accuracy and safety

Preferred

2 to 4 years production experience preferred2 to 4 years of CNC Lathe Programming and Machining

Ability to take precision measurementsAbility to identify metal alloys by appearance (weight, color, hardness, etc.)Ability to find and maintain proper orientation of cast metal disks through the manufacturing processExperience of basic operation of machine tools (CNC Lathe and CNC Mill) to support production machinistsExperience machining different types of alloys preferred (Nickel, Magnesium, Zinc, Cast Iron, etc.)Advanced computer skills (CNC programming, word, excel etc.)Excellent verbal and communication skills and attention to detailSelf-motivatedDemonstrate the ability to solve practical problems
