Securitized Research Analyst, Esoteric/Commercial ABS

Overview

The Securitized Research Analyst role within LGIM America is designed to provide a high level of support to the Chicago-based US Fixed Income Team and its management of all securitized product investments. The Research Analyst will provide fundamental credit analysis to support investment decisions within the team relating to Esoteric/Commercial ABS and any other assets within the structured/securitized product sectors. The Research Analyst is expected to have a strong understanding of the securitized industry and a proficient working knowledge of the issuers/collateral types that are active within these markets. The Research Analyst will liaise with company management teams, rating agencies, and investment bank syndicate/research teams to form opinions and analysis relating to new and existing opportunities. The successful candidate will have ABS research knowledge and will primarily focus on Esoteric/Commercial ABS sectors. The Research Analyst will also be expected to support needed analysis in other Securitized sub sectors as internal efforts expand within those sectors.

Responsibilities

Reports directly to Head of Securitized Product Research and is responsible for the research and modeling of all esoteric/commercial fixed income allocations that are being managed within LGIM America.Perform thorough fundamental credit and relative value analyses of securitized market opportunities within Esoteric/Commercial ABS. These analyses should result in actionable alpha-generating recommendations. Communicate effectively with the portfolio managers to contribute positively to the investment performance of LGIMA’s managed portfolios.Balance short-term relative value recommendations against long-term thematic research to preserve principal value of client assets while providing top tier performance relative to LGIMA’s asset management peers.Develop strong working relationships with London-based partners along with internal parties that require experienced knowledge regarding securitized products.Build and maintain good communication lines with key sector issuers, regulators, industry agencies, rating agencies, financial intermediaries and specialized research providers.Ability to present LGIMA’s credit research process and capabilities to consultants and clients

Qualifications

Applicable ABS sector experience of 3-5 years, advanced degree required.Job appropriate Securitized research/analysis and organizational skills essential. Experience in understanding ABS including aircraft, cell towers, containers, comm/solar PACE, datacenters, legal settlements, railcars, single family rentals, tax/lien utility, timeshare, & whole business.Ability to take ownership for assigned responsibilities independently and accurately.Strong Intex, Bloomberg, Excel, and PowerPoint skills requireABS modeling experience required.Working knowledge of all securitized products required. Prior research experience analyzing the various sectors of ABS preferred.
