Controller – Hybrid (145K-150K) plus bonus and Unlimited PTO!LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Controller for a dynamic company in the energy sector located in Austin, Texas. The Controller will play a key role in overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, supporting financial forecasts, and ensuring the timely production of accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

The ideal candidate will have a CPA, at least 10 years of experience in accounting/finance, and prior experience as a Controller, preferably in a startup environment. Strong leadership skills, proficiency in NetSuite Accounting Software, and expertise in standard cost accounting is preferred. Responsibilities:•Supervise the daily operations of the accounting department, covering Monthly Financial Close, Accounts Receivable, Invoicing, Payroll, Bank Reconciliations, Treasury/Accounts Payable, Cost Accounting, Tax, and Audit.•Support management in preparing financial forecasts and projections.•Ensure the production of accurate Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.•Analyze key variances from the budget and work towards reducing the timing of the close process.•Manage the annual audit and tax return process with the CPA firm.•Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures, including key GAAP recognition policies.•Develop and document business processes and accounting policies.•Strengthen internal controls and collaborate with the product team for proper inventory management and accounting in NetSuite.•Work closely with other internal departments to ensure accurate and timely financial results.•Maintain and further develop NetSuite reporting and function as a NetSuite administrator.

Requirements:•10+ years of experience in accounting/finance, with a preference for audit, consulting, or industry accounting roles.•Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Masters preferred.•CPA certification is required.•Previous experience as a Controller in a startup is strongly preferred.•Proficiency in NetSuite Accounting Software and strong administrator experience is required.•Experience in standard cost accounting is preferred.
