Job Title: Staff Accountant - Sales and Use TaxLocation: Buffalo Grove, IL
LHH is hiring a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our dynamic marketing firm located in Buffalo Grove, Illinois on a hybrid basis. The Staff Accountant will play a critical role in supporting the finance team by maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with analysis. This role will be heavily involved with sales and use tax so some experience with this is required.
Responsibilities:Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures.Record journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger accounts.Manage the sales and use taxReconcile bank accounts and credit card statements.Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.Generate financial reports and analyses to support management decision-making.Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.Provide support during annual audits and tax filings.Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to the implementation of best practices.Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives.
Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience including sales and use tax, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Experience in the marketing or advertising industry is a plus.
