Objective and ResponsibilitiesThe Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial activities of the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting processes. The Accounting Manager will play a key role in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management. Critical responsibilities within the Accounting Manager role will be:
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department and lead month end closing efforts and documentation.Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with senior management to establish financial goals and objectives.Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget and provide variance analysis and explanations.Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies as needed.Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and best practices to ensure the company's financial practices are in line with industry trends.Lead process documentation and recording and identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to streamline accounting processes and increase efficiency.Assist in special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management
Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field7+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with 3+ years of experience in a managerial or supervisory capacityStrong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory complianceProficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks Desktop with a potential system upgrade in the future)Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsStrong leadership abilities with experience in managing teams and fostering a collaborative work environmentExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levelsDetail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity in financial reportingProactive, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
