📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
A national real estate firm, headquartered in Manhattan, is actively seeking a Corporate Controller to join their team. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial accounting and reporting, ensuring the accuracy and timely delivery of financial information.
Key Responsibilities:• Lead the preparation of financial statements and disclosures in accordance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements• Develop and maintain financial reporting processes and systems to ensure accuracy, efficiency and compliance• Oversee the monthly, quarterly and annual close process, ensuring the timely and accurate completion of financial reporting• Manage a team of financial professionals and provide mentorship and training to ensure their professional development• Collaborate with other members of the finance team to ensure the integrity of financial information and resolve any issues• Stay up-to-date on changes in accounting standards and regulations and implement any necessary changes
Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field, with a strong preference for a CPA• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in financial accounting and reporting, with at least 3 years in a management role• Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial reporting software
