Textile Technician

As the Textile Technologist/Technician you will collaborate with the Product Design and Merchandising department, as well as factories, to ensure strict adherence to product testing parameters by contract manufacturers. Conducting tests and analyses, and subsequently documenting the results. The main objective is to create and/or revise technical product specifications to fulfill internal and external demands. Engaging in procedures to guarantee adherence to regulations, safety standards, and customer product requirements. This person will report to the Corporate Quality Control Manager.

Responsibilities Recording, analyzing, and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data; demonstrating procedures; and collecting, preparing, and testing samples. Work with a variety of materials, including synthetic and natural yarns, textiles, leather, fur, and plastics. Monitor printing and dyeing methods and conduct performance testing relating to raw materials and finished products. Conduct inspections of incoming products and materials, identify current developments, innovations, and trends in fabric. Keeping up with sustainability, environmental trends and staying updated on emerging technology and environmental issues. You’ll be supervising and controlling supply chain certification procedures, including OEKO-TEX, Made in Green, and the Global Recycle Standard (GRS).

Experience, Skills, & Ability Requirements A background in textile technology, fashion studies, clothing or garment technology, chemical and physical science, polymer science, materials science, and production or manufacturing engineering. Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with suppliers, manufacturers, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with sustainability standards. A keen eye for detail and problem-solving abilities are also crucial for identifying areas of improvement in the supply chain process. Excellent presentation skills: excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills to effectively interact with internal and external business contacts. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Broad knowledge of the Company’s products/services and systems Experience working with Qima & Inspectorio is a plus! Bachelor's degrees in fields such as Textile Engineering, Textile Technology, Textile Chemistry, Materials Science.
