Senior Accountant
📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information. The ideal candidate will play a key role in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal control processes.
Location: Philadelphia, PASalary: $75,000 - $100,000 annually
Responsibilities:Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.Consolidate financial statements for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and completeness.Provide variance analysis and explanations for management review.Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts.Monitor budget-to-actual performance and provide insights to management.Identify trends and potential risks or opportunities.Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and chart of accounts.Review and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and strategic initiatives.Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide recommendations for improvement.Participate in special projects as assigned.Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and controls.Assist with the implementation and maintenance of internal control frameworks.Support internal and external audits as necessary.Mentor and train junior accounting staff.Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for accounting-related matters.
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior-level role.Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements.Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity.
