Equity Execution Trader

Position Overview: $10b Long/Short Equity Fund is looking for a L/S Equity Trader, who will play a crucial role in executing trades and optimizing the performance of their L/S equity portfolio. Collaborating closely with portfolio managers, research analysts, and other trading professionals, the trader will be responsible for implementing effective trading strategies and managing trade execution across various markets. This role can sit in NYC or Chicago. Responsibilities:Execute trades efficiently and accurately across multiple asset classes, including equities, derivatives, and other related instruments, with a focus on long/short equity strategies.Collaborate with portfolio managers and research analysts to develop and implement effective trading strategies, ensuring alignment with the overall investment objectives.Monitor market conditions, news, and other relevant factors to identify and capitalize on investment opportunities, managing risk and optimizing trade execution.Utilize trading systems and tools to execute trades, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk management policies.Maintain strong relationships with brokers, exchanges, and other counterparties to ensure access to liquidity, competitive execution, and efficient trade settlement.Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and emerging technologies that could impact trading strategies, and proactively adapt to changing market conditions.Provide guidance and mentorship to junior traders, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster their professional growth. Qualifications:3+ experience as a Equity Trader within a reputable investment bank or hedge fund, with a demonstrated track record of successful trade execution and portfolio management.In-depth knowledge of equity markets, trading strategies, and financial products, with a strong understanding of fundamental and quantitative analysis.Proficiency in utilizing trading platforms, order management systems, and electronic trading tools.Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and make informed trading decisions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build relationships with external counterparties.Strong risk management mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Demonstrated ability to thrive under pressure, maintain composure during volatile market conditions, and make sound decisions in time-sensitive situations.
