Los Angeles Apparel is a nearly fully vertically integrated garment manufacturing facility located in the heart of South Central Los Angeles. We are seeking a Junior Managerial Accountant to manage cost analysis, inventory control, and financial reports. No prior work experience is necessary.
Applicants must be highly motivated individuals with critical thinking and analytical skills and be comfortable applying their knowledge across different domains. They must be ready to learn, exceptionally organized, and understand the importance of deadlines and schedules. Must either be pursuing or have a Bachelor's Degree with a GPA of 3.5 or higher and at least 2 references.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:Maintain integrity and accuracy of company costing systemsAssist in overseeing and evaluating physical inventory cycle counts and related data discrepanciesDevelop a thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes and garment construction in order to improve costing analysisCoordinate with multiple departments to ensure timely and accurate financial reportingOther financial and inventory analysis and reporting as required
Requirements:Detail-oriented and able to see patterns and exceptions in large data setsStrong data visualization skillsPassion for learning and teaching othersExhibits initiative, and grit, and possesses a strong sense of teamworkAbility to work under pressure while managing many projects simultaneouslyAbility to work effectively with people at all levels of the organizationAdvanced knowledge of Excel - understanding of pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and other key functions
Other qualities that are a plus:Interest in the apparel industryFluent in Spanish
This is an on-site position that has a starting rate of $16.78/hour with medical and dental benefits, 401k, and overtime opportunities. This is a 90 day paid internship conditional on the applicant’s performance. If performance expectations are met or exceeded during the internship, then they may be eligible to transition to full time employment. Cover letter is not required.
