Job Summary

The Loudoun County Department of Family Services is currently seeking talented and highly motivated candidates who are looking to work in a diverse, exciting, and fast paced work environment and have a desire to help Loudoun County residents become self-sufficient through employment, education, and training activities offered by VIEW Program.

This position is responsible for conducting client assessments, developing service plans, and providing supportive services and intensive case management to VIEW participants. Responsibilities include ensuring goals identified on participants’ service plans are achieved in a timely manner, maintaining documentation and case files, and following established federal, state and departmental policy and procedures. In addition, this position is responsible for collaborating with other service staff, community partners and vendors to serve the best interest of the client. The position is also responsible for handling crisis situations and making appropriate clinical referrals, as needed.

People Who Are Successful In This Role

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, department staff, community partners and vendors. Have knowledge of complex federal, state, and local TANF and VIEW policy. Skills in using theories and techniques of assessment, crisis intervention, crisis stabilization, and case management. Ability to communicate ideas clearly, concisely, and effectively, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of social, economic and health problems.

This position has a 60% telework schedule after 90 days and a successful evaluation of performance.

Hiring salary will be commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field; three (3) years of direct professional experience in Social or Human Services setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred

Bilingual in English and Spanish Public Benefits policy knowledge and experience processing SNAP and Medicaid applications and renewals.

Job Contingencies And Special Requirements

Pass pre-employment background check to include criminal, and credit. (Hold or obtain, if so permitted) licenses required by law for assigned position. Hold or obtain certifications if required by the assigned position. This position may be assigned and required to work at an alternate work site(s) to carry out duties that support the needs of the County’s residents or employees. May be asked to work beyond regular scheduled workday including evenings and weekends, as required, to perform functions of position for assigned area. Work is performed in a dynamic environment that requires sensitivity to change and responsiveness to changing goals, priorities, and needs.
