Design Engineer (Wire Harnesses) - Redwood City, CA
I am working with an established EV startup who are looking to bring an exciting, new fleet of vehicles to the market in 2024. The candidate will be part of the engineering team who will be designing automotive parts and harnesses for the new vehicle. This is a great time to join them at their global headquarters based in the Redwood City area of California.
Responsibilities:Involvement with the design of automotive wiring harnesses and electrical distribution systemsInvolvement with the design of other automotive parts such as structures, components and enclosuresWork on design specification, testing, validation and acceptance to provide the correct working proceduresWork on Bill of Materials (BOMs) to align them with CAD softwareShare technical knowledge and expertise when participating in design reviewsHelp resolve any issues within design, manufacture and supplier quality by providing supportLiaise with different teams to help source quality materials and connect with different wiring harness suppliers
Required Skills:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical etc.)Experience with an Electrical Schematic software package (CATIA is preferred)Must have previous experience working on wiring harness designKnowledge of High-Voltage Electrical SystemsExperience working on Bill of Materials (BOM)
Preferred Skills:Previous background working within the Automotive or Electrical Vehicle industry is preferred
