Here's what you can expect working at Lynn Engineering: As our Structural Engineer-in-Training, we’ll count on you to provide support to engineers and assist with engineering calculations, field inspections, reviewing and redlining structural designs, and producing structural designs using AutoCAD. Designs include steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, windstorm and foundation. In this role, you will work under the guidance of an experienced and licensed Professional Engineer. There’s no I in LynnGroup. As part of our team, you’ll coordinate and collaborate among multiple offices to meet overall project objectives and deadlines. You’ll need to be able to communicate well in words, in numbers, in emails, over the phone, in person, with clients, with sub-contractors, with employees, in a box with fox, in a house with a mouse… I think you get the picture. Other key responsibilities include: Analyzing sketches, notes and other input material to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete drawings with minimal supervision Understanding and using established company standards for drafting including layer names, line and character styles, drawings and window names, and file names for sheet layout Designing projects to be safe for both vertical and lateral loads abiding by the respective codesCollaborate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to ensure project success.Assisting with other duties and special projects as neededAre you someone who is always looking for more? The position occasionally requires stooping, kneeling, and crouching to file. There may be site visits required encountering variable conditions. This full-time position is based in our Bay City, TX office location. Office hours are 8am-6pm Monday-Thursday and 8am-12pm Friday.
