Role Summary:DevOps organization is seeking a DevOps Engineering Senior Advisor to join our Productivity Engineering Organization. This team provides critical services and supporting infrastructure that underlies our company’s CI/CD efforts. Critical technical skills include familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, Linux, Windows, Ansible, and Terraform, as well as the common DevOps activities, practices, and techniques found in highly automated environments. Critical skills include the ability to drive DevOps best practices across the team as well as plan and strategize on near-term and longer-term projects.
Candidates for this position will work collaboratively across our internal Customers, Product Owners, and Product teams on technical DevOps solutions and best practices. Success in this position requires you to possess well-developed critical thinking skills and can participate in an Agile Software Engineering delivery as an open-minded contributor who can help the team reach its larger goals.
Responsibilities:Design, implement, and support application Kubernetes environments on OpenShift – EKS is a bonus.Through a hands-on approach, conduct software engineering, and code reviews and deliver innovative software tools, technologies, and application frameworks. Maintain deep levels of involvement in the implementation process.Ensure adherence to existing DevOps enterprise direction and architectural strategies.Function as a hands-on member of the DevOps teams - guiding & mentoring the team to design, document, develop, test, deploy, and maintain products and solutions.Experience building and troubleshooting OpenShift deploymentsComfort following versioning and release strategies with git/GitHubCompetence with Python and BashExperience with infrastructure automation tools (such as Ansible/Terraform/Helm)Solid knowledge of Linux, Windows OS’s and containerization
Education:Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent industry experience.AWS certification is preferred and would be a plus.Azure certification is a plusOpenShift certification is a plus
Location/Schedule Notes:Open to 100% remote candidates though ideally looking for someone local to the Bloomfield, CT Philadelphia, PA, or Raleigh, NC offices.Core hours are 9 AM-5 PM EST, though some flex to CST, Monday-Friday.No overtime is anticipated.
Hourly Pay Rate Range (dependent on location, experience, and expectation):The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position is: $55.33/hour-$73.77/hourBenefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K (provided minimum eligibility hours are met).
