The Role

The Financial Accountant is responsible for assisting in the day to day operation of the financial and reporting function of the company which is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland with subsidiaries operating in Ireland, Germany, the United States, Australia and the Netherlands. The Accountant will work closely with colleagues across multiple time zones around the world. He/she will have regular contact with and will support Sales, Operations, Research and Clinical groups in all locations, and will work with finance colleagues in the US, and outsourced financial support in Germany, UK, the Netherlands and Australia. Also working with a range of financial advisors/ professionals, including auditors, tax, ESM advisors, etc.

Position Responsibilities

Financial accounting and reporting:Assisting in preparation of monthly management accounts including (among other items) bank and balance sheet reconciliations, prepayment and accrual review, intercompany reconciliation, fixed assets, Assisting with the financial, planning and analysis function of the Group,Assisting in preparation of IFRS Financial Statements including notes and disclosures and half yearly financials. Assisting in preparation of subsidiary financial statements,Assisting with the auditing process,Assisting with the accounts payable / accounts receivable function,General ledger accounting,Assisting with payroll process,Assisting with the tax process, Adhoc requests from work colleagues, directors, shareholders, advisors, etc.Continuous development and continuous improvement Assist in the implementation and management of internal controls, financial policies, processes and procedures. Support as required in relation to other aspects of the Finance function, Legal and Regulatory, etc. Flexible, energetic, a fast learner and be willing and capable of developing to take on increased levels of responsibility. Self-starter – looks for things to do.Capable of working on a full range of tasks from routine and administrative tasks to responsibilities for highly complex tasks. Complies with the policies, procedures and work instructions of Mainstay Medical and its subsidiaries.

Qualifications

At least 5 years of related experience with a Bachelors degree, or 3 years and a Masters degree, or a PhD without experience, or equivalent work experience. ACA, ACCA , CIMA, CPA, or CMA exam candidate is a plus but not required.Must be willing to travel internationally if required.MS Office capabilities, particularly MS Excel.Good organization and time management skills. Attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Collaboration. Experience with accounting systems.Experience in the Life Sciences industry, preferrably in the medical device sector, preferred.

The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $95,000/year; however, base pay offered will take into account a range of factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package includes a range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.
