Security Attendant

Major Purpose

Maintain a safe and secure environment for patrons and employees by patrolling and

monitoring the premises and personnel.

Responsibilities

Follow safety and security policies and procedures at all times.Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property on foot or in a vehicle; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.Carry out an intermittent building security check schedule.Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.Responds to guest requests quickly and courteously as reported by night shift staff.Escort any unwelcome persons from the property.Lock property entrances when required.Assist guests/employees during emergency situations.Notify appropriate individuals or Authorities in the event of accidents, attacks, or other incidents.Performs all duties in a safe and professional manner and reports all accidents or substantial incidents to the supervisor immediately.Maintain safety and security of guests at all times.Watch for and report safety hazards or conditions.Monitor staff leaving premises to protect against internal theft of property.Monitor the front desk during off peak hours.Completes other duties as assigned by the Coordinator, Guest Services.

Requirements

One (1) year of watchman/security experience preferred by not required.Must have a Class D Security Officer License or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire. Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bend.Ability to lift, push and pull required load (usually about 30 lbs.).Ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers, and managers.Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
