Job Description
The Chief of Staff is a key member of the Private Markets team and will work closely with the Global Head of Private Markets and partner with the COO and the entire Private Markets Leadership Team to drive business growth, simplicity, and operational excellence across the platform. This position builds strategic relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including Manulife Investment Management’s current and growing client base. Key Accountabilities
Lead, facilitate, and/or provide support on strategic initiatives including, but not limited to strategy and execution, M&A integration, research & development, and transformation.Manage agendas and facilitate all leadership team meetings & offsites to ensure the appropriate level of focus and attention on existing and emerging strategic priorities.Cascade and align organizational strategy, leveraging the financial plan, business plans, communications strategy, and annual goal setting.Collaborate with marketing and communications to ensure the strategy is understood and communicated effectively to private markets staff, MIM partners and clients.Directly support the Global Head of Private Markets in developing internal and external communications to drive growth, engagement and enhance Manulife’s reputation and brand globally in partnership with the marketing and communications teams.Lead the Global Head of Private Markets forward planning agenda and provide support as needed to ensure flawless execution. This includes prioritization and planning with leaders across the Private Markets platform and key support functions.Play a key role in Private Markets communications and meeting preparations (briefings, outlines, key messages, speeches, presentations, strategy and governance documents, RFPs, reports, etc.) and meet required deadlines.Review materials, briefing notes, and communications to the Global Head of Private Markets and GWLT ensuring accuracy and quality.Carry out research and relevant studies on specific topics related to business, policy and others as required by the leadership team.Travel when required to provide communications and stakeholder support as needed.Support the Private Markets platform to drive change, reduce red tape, and deliver results.Partner and collaborate effectively across business and functional teams at all levels
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, or equivalentMinimum 6+ years of progressive work experience in financial servicesA high degree of business acumen in financial servicesStrategy consulting and/or private markets experience preferredDemonstrated experience in engaging stakeholders to drive behavioral and cultural changeExcellent writing, oral communication, and presentation skillsExperience in collaborating with executive stakeholders and managing senior leadership expectationsStrong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple complex projects at the same time and under tight deadlines, operating in a matrix environmentDemonstrated ability to develop strategies and tactics in collaboration with external (e.g., consultants) and internal partners (e.g., Business Units)Strong business skills including business acumen and leadership qualitiesAbility to innovate and solve complex issues; comfortable dealing with ambiguity and challengesHighly developed analytical skills and the ability to translate analyses into comprehensive and actionable recommendationsAbility to travel 0-25%

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Salary range is expected to be between
$103,050.00 CAD - $185,490.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
