About The Position

The Operations and Maintenance division is a customer-driven team providing day-to-day maintenance and successful operation of all County facilities. We are looking for a skilled Plumber who will deliver quality work and have a strong focus on customer service to join our O&M team. The workgroup consists of numerous crafts and specialty trades, including electricians, locksmiths, trades generalists, and HVAC technicians; teamwork is a priority, working in county buildings 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

As the landlord for all facilities owned by Maricopa County, the Facilities Management Department is responsible for the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operations of more than 200 facilities comprised of over 10 million square feet. Facilities Management is made up of a collaborative team that provides and performs various functions to meet the facility-related needs of all Maricopa County Departments. Our broad range of services includes various aspects of the ongoing operations and maintenance of all County-owned facilities, management of all facility projects, and in-house design services.

We Require

Three years of journey-level commercial plumbing experienceHigh School Diploma or GEDCompletion of an apprenticeship program or vocational education in the plumbing field may substitute for two years of the experience requirementMust Complete a Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) background investigation to access County detention facilities

We Also Value

Five years of experience within a large commercial, industrial, or institutional environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office products and selected software programs, including Maximo.

Working Conditions

Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record by the time of hireDuties require lifting/deadlifting (floor to waist) of up to 50 pounds, bending, twisting, squatting, pushing, or pulling is required of up to 100 pounds, up to 100 feet while navigating through equipment rooms, on building rooftops, and in restrictive areas. Must be able to safely climb ladders, scaffolding, and step stools in the execution of duties. Requires bending, climbing; stooping, kneeling, and crawling in all indoor and outdoor environmentsSome temperature extremes, confined areas, high noise levels, dim lighting, dust or smoke, potential contagious diseases, and traumatic subject matter.
