Full Range: $79,500 - $109,250 annually

Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

As the Registered Nurse Lead in TB, you will lead a team of RNs, LPNs, and MAs in managing patients who are presently diagnosed with and undergoing treatment for active TB Disease. We will count on you to manage patients who have been diagnosed and are undergoing treatment for active TB Disease or Latent TB.

We Require

Two years of Registered Nurse experience in a community, public health setting or experience in acute pulmonary or infectious diseaseA valid, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse issued by the Arizona State Board of Nursing or issued by another state recognized by the Arizona Board of Nursing as a compact license stateGraduate of an accredited school of Nursing

Job Contributions

Maintains an active load of patients by providing communication, medical care, interdisciplinary coordination, and support to the patient until treatment completion.Provides direction and leadership to RNs, LPNs, and MAs related to the provision of medical care and treatment of patients with active TB Disease and latent TB infectionEnsures accuracy and completeness of medical record documentation personally and by RNs, LPNs, and MAsDirects the workflow, assigns work duties and tasks, and oversees the day-to-day case management of patients being treated for active and latent TB, including medication administration, directly observed therapy, treatment plans and guidelines, patient incentives, and treatment completionProposes and implements work-process changes for efficiency, effectiveness, and accuracyProvides recommendations and guidance for appropriate case management, including patient incentives, to ensure treatment completionWorks positively and cooperatively with an interdisciplinary team of nurses, medical assistants, social workers, field staff, investigators, and providers

Working Conditions

Work occurs in a clinical setting, including exam rooms, phlebotomy and sputum stations, and offices with daily sitting, standing, and walking between various areas in the buildingValid Arizona driver's license is required upon hireTravel may be required to complete fieldworkMust be able to participate in emergency response training as scheduled and be available to respond as directed in the event of a public health emergencyWithin one month of hire, all employees are required to provide evidence of immunity or receive immunizations for vaccine-preventable illnesses for any position within the Maricopa County Department of Public Health; required immunizations include MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Tdap (whooping cough and diphtheria), Varicella (chickenpox), and annual Influenza; some positions require a Hepatitis B vaccine and/or a Tuberculosis test
