The Role

MarketAxess is looking for a Middle Office Associate. This individual will join the Middle Office team and provide trade support to our sales department at various levels. The successful candidate will have keen attention to detail and a knack for problem-solving.

This role is a 6-month consultant assignment, and the schedule is from 1PM - 9 PM EST, Monday-Friday.

How You'll Help Take Us There

Monitor trade flow and ensure post-trade processes are functioning properly including clearing and confirmation of transactionsAddress and resolve pending, unmatched and unallocated trades with brokers and customers prior to settlement dateWork to effectively resolve discrepancies prior to settlement dateProcess trade allocationsMonitor Obligation Warehouse, RTTM, CTM, OMGEO/ALERT, DTC ID and other industry tools for timely trade comparisonMonitor regulatory reporting tools TRACE, MSRB for timely and accurate trade reporting; facilitate any discrepancies with clients and trading desksAddress and resolve trade breaks with customers and brokers and make corrections in accordance with established processes and proceduresOpen new accounts to facilitate trade processingParticipate in the testing of system enhancementsCreate and maintain departmental Policy & ProceduresLiaise with Sales and Dealer Relationship Managers on all client/trading issuesCollaborate with stakeholders to effectively resolve client issues/escalationsBuild and maintain a culture of trust, transparency, and integrity

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with all levels of associates and managementSelf-starter and tenacious; ability to motivate othersDetail-oriented and good follow-throughStrong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mentalityAbility to multi-taskAbility to operate under tight deadlinesBachelor’s degree5-7 years’ previous Trade Support or Middle Office experience preferredUnderstanding of the fixed income marketsShadow systems experience is a plusSolid understanding of Industry platforms and tools (DTC ID, RTTM, Obligation Warehouse, TRACE & MSRB Reporting, etc.)Ability to work across functional teams, as well an individual contributor as neededSeries 99 preferred; other licenses viewed as a strong positive

For job positions in NYC, NY, and other locations where required, the estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $40.00 USD to $45.00 USD per hour. Actual salary may vary depending on job-related factors, which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
