📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities

General Position Summary: The HR Generalist is responsible for recruitment efforts, new hire orientation and onboarding, employee termination, benefits administration, legal compliance, company policy and procedure adherence in a union environment. In addition, will build strong relationships with our company's managers and employees to help them with their human resources needs.

Essential Duties: Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as federal and state legal responsibilities.Support and assist with integration activities as a newly acquired company. Such as, but not limited to, alignment of policies, systems, training, positive culture and engagement activities and initiatives. Partner with the Union to maintain healthy business practices and collaboration.Understand, follow, and enforce all established safety, health, quality, and company policies, procedures, Collective Bargaining Agreement, and recognized practices. Partner with the HR leader on applicable employee relations including coaching, counseling, discipline, and engage the Human Resources Manager where applicable and necessary.Support local recruiting efforts in conjunction with platform Talent Acquisition Partner. Administer and coordinate new hire orientation, onboarding efforts and employee termination process.Coordination of local employee communications and employee relations items.Provides general guidance and coaching for Plant Leadership, relating to employee concerns, problems, and disciplinary action to comply with company policies. Responsible for implementing training and development of employees at every level.Promotes and supports company continuous improvement initiatives. Acts as a local change agent.Promotes and supports a culture of growth and development for employees at all levels.Partners with Operations on all risk management, safety, and workers compensation items.Serves as onsite benefit contact and Manages site FMLA, STD WC, and other leaves according to policies.Coordinate and host employee engagement & recognition events and champion company recognition programs and retention initiatives.Partner with Marmon IEI HR team on platform on projects and initiatives.Other duties and projects as assigned.

Education and Experience Preferred:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business or Human Resources is preferred. 3+ years of experience working in Human Resources3+ years of experience in Employee Relations in a union environment strongly desired.

Knowledge and Skills Preferred:Knowledge of current Employment Law, AAP/EEO, NLRA, FMLA/ADA, FLSA and general knowledge of OSHA, DEEP, EPA required. Strong interpersonal and communication skillsMS office suite experience required; Workday experience preferred. Basic knowledge of ADP or similar payroll system.Must be detailed orientated with a high level of accuracy.Able to analyze written information and situational information to make sound decisions or recommendations.Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive information. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including consultative approach and listening skills.Fundamental understanding of leadership and team development.Must a team player demonstrate resourcefulness, initiative, results-orientation, and a constant focus on service delivery. Flexible, adaptable style; comfortable navigating through ambiguity.Ability to travel appropriately 15% of time for training and strategic initiative collaboration.

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:Ability to work long hours in a sedentary position sitting, talking, looking at a computer, charts/graphs and performing repetitive motions.Ability to move objects and materials of at least 25lbs. Ability to collaborate with manufacturing team members as needed in an environment that can be noisy. Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE when onsite.
