Job Description

We’re growing and our clients deserve the best. As a DI Claim Examiner, you will be responsible for adjudicating Individual Disability Income and Life Waiver of Premium claims of varying complexity.

The Opportunity

As a Claim Examiner, you will collaborate with subject matter experts; you will proactively identify, solicit, and analyze information essential to the claim evaluation process, including but not limited to medical records, financial documentation, and occupational information; you will develop and implement investigative action plans; and make or recommend liability determinations in adherence with policy provisions.

Adjudicate disability income and life waiver of premium claims of low to moderate complexity in adherence with policy provisionsDemonstrate critical thinking and proactively address outstanding claim requirementsRecommend initial and ongoing liability determinations, authorize and issue benefit payments as appropriateDemonstrate exceptional customer service skills, both oral and writtenRespond proactively and timely with claimants and other stakeholdersDemonstrate the ability and desire to handle issues independently, seeking guidance in highly complex situations

Minimum Qualifications

Associates Degree or 2+ years of Individual Disability Income Disability, Group Long Term Disability, or Long Term Care Claim Experience1+ years of customer service experience

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree3+ years of Individual Disability Income, Group Long Term Disability, or Long Term Care Claim experienceInvestigative experienceProven, exceptional customer service skills through oral and written communications are required in accordance with internal and regulatory standardsMust be flexible, able to work independently and self-drivenDetail focused with excellent time management skills
