Transportation Manager/Wolf Pak DCM

MAU is hiring a Transportation Manager/Wolf Pak DCM at our client, Cameron Ashley, in Middletown, PA. As a Transportation Manager/Wolf Pak DCM, you will oversee the efficient and cost-effective transportation and delivery of products. You will also be responsible for managing a team of dispatchers and drivers, ensuring on-time deliveries, optimizing routes, and maintaining compliance with all transportation regulations. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Required Education and Experience

5+ years of experience in transportation management, logistics, or related fieldProven experience in managing and motivating a team of dispatchers and drivers

General Requirements

Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skillsProficient in transportation management software (TMS) and logistics applicationsWorking knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and safety proceduresAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Requirements

Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL)

Essential Functions

Plan, direct, and oversee the daily operations of the transportation department, including, scheduling, dispatching, and routing of deliveriesRecruit, hire, train, and supervise a team of dispatchers and drivers, ensure they understand company policies and proceduresDevelop and implement efficient transportation strategies to minimize delivery times and optimize fleet utilizationNegotiate and manage contracts with carriers and third-party logistics providersTrack and monitor transportation costs, identify opportunities for cost reductionEnsure all deliveries comply with safety regulations and Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelinesOversee vehicle maintenance schedules and address any mechanical issuesManage and maintain transportation-related documentation and recordsRespond to customer inquiries and complaints regarding deliveriesCollaborate with other departments, such as sales and warehouse, to ensure smooth order fulfillmentManage, implement, and improve processes to ensure the business unit has a viable and well-maintained fleet, develop fleet replacement cycles, capital requirements, and priorities of asset re-deploymentTrain appropriate individuals in load securement, vehicle safety procedures, defensive driving, pre- and post-checks, vehicle maintenance, and post-accident proceduresInteract with drivers daily, answer any questions and ensure drivers can safely operate and understand the operational procedures and are following applicable federal, state, and local lawsProvide oversight and assistance as it related to process development/improvement, inspections, and compliance, purchasing, tire programs, fleet repairs, maintenance diagnostics, and DOT complianceEnsure drivers operate safely at all timesPerform other tasks as required
