Maintenance Mechanic - HVAC

Responsibilities

Job Description

Installing, maintaining, and repairing ventilation, and air conditioning systems and related equipment. Identifying maintenance risks on equipment. Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems. Cleaning, adjusting, and repairing systems, and performing Preventative Maintenance on equipment. Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently. Providing technical direction and on-the-job training. Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions. Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act. Complying with service standards, work instructions and customers' requirements. Safety mindset while performing all activities including the use of lock out tag out. Ability to effectively communicate using phone, email, and texting. Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

High school diploma, GED or suitable equivalent. 3+ year experience as a commercial HVAC technician with the willingness to continue your education in HVAC field. Ability to effectively maintain your HVAC certification with proper state requirements. Working Knowledge of advanced concepts of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating. Proficient in balancing air and water treatment systems in line with HVAC protocols. VFD knowledge. Cooling Tower experience. Cooling Chillers experience. Water treatment knowledge preferred. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in reading schematics and work plans. Ability to work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays with short or no notice. Ability to work in confined spaces and elevated platforms. BAS fundamentals knowledge. Excellent time management and organizational skills Ability to work well under pressure Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Good troubleshooting skills Ability to perform work in a mature and professional manner, demonstrate personal responsibility, and perform all assigned duties Ability to work independently on assigned tasks, as well as to accept direction on given assignments Working knowledge of MS office and exceptional computer skills Must be able to lift up to 40lbs
