Director of Procurement

Job Summary:The Maverick Power Supply Chain team is looking for a highly motivated and exceptional Procurement professional to bring Maverick Power’s engineered products to life. In this role, the Director of Procurement will be responsible for leading the team that develops the strategies for direct and indirect procurement activities including cost management, supplier relationship management, sourcing, continuity of supply and managing purchasing of the parts that make up the building blocks for low voltage/medium voltage switchgear, automatic transfer switches and power distribution units. As the Director of Procurement, you will be responsible for all commercial aspects of the awarding of new business, developing strong supplier relationships, and working side by side with our engineering counterparts to push the envelope of our technical requirements. You will also take the lead in making sure Maverick Power can meet its cost targets, suppliers deliver to our aggressive timelines, and parts are received at the highest level of quality. In our team, we expect our people to own every aspect of the sourcing process from start to finish and everything in between. This role reports to the VP of Operations.Supervisory Responsibilities:Lead the Maverick Power Procurement team.Duties/Responsibilities:Lead RFI/ RFQ/ RFP and strategic sourcing processDevelop supplier relationship, sourcing and continuity of supply strategies by analyzing suppliers, market conditions, and technology roadmapsLead contractual negotiations with suppliers on NDA’s, General Terms & Conditions, and Production Supply AgreementsIdentify potential suppliers, analyze capabilities, and develop a sourcing strategy and road map for Maverick Power’s StakeholdersCommunicate closely with program management to support prototype requirements, execute against build milestones, and track sourcing progress Negotiate with suppliers to obtain best prototype and production pricing based on targets; develop cost improvement programs, KPI’s and governance processes that drives strategic advantages to Maverick Power and its customers Perform a deep dive analysis of quote submissions based on cost breakdown dataDevelop supplier quality management strategies, including defining the organization, resources, processes and governance systemsDevelop governance systems that works with engineering development to ensure best cost is attainedPerforms other job-related duties as necessary or assigned.Required Skills/Abilities:· Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.· Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment.· Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.· Attention to detail and dedication to quality.· Commitment to excellence and high standards· Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. · Must be able to complete criminal record background check.· Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.· Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)· Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and cautions.Education and Experience:· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering· 7+ years purchasing, buying, or procurement experience.· 5+ years experience with power electronics, manufacturing, or other related industries· 5+ years MS OfficePreferred Education and Experience:· 10+ years of mechanical and or electrical commodity purchasing experience· Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills· Analytical skills to ensure both internal and external requests are fulfilled· Attention to detail to ensure specifications being requested are received· Ability to work independently, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environmentPhysical Requirements: · Prolonged periods sitting, standing, and performing repetitive tasks. · Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time.
