Vice President of Optical Systems Engineering

Responsibilities

MaxLinear is seeking a high energy and experienced Vice President of Optical Systems Engineering. In this role, you will lead a world-class Systems Engineering team in charge of developing next generation fiber optic Ethernet transceiver DSP platforms for hyperscale data center applications, from concept to production release.

Lead and inspire a team of world-class systems engineers, recruit and develop best talent. Build and scale organization to meet evolving business needs Deliver next generation fiber optic ethernet transceiver DSP platforms, from concept through customer qualification and production release, on time, quality, and budget Create cohesive engineering culture that fosters innovation, execution, customer focus, and core company values; drive organizational and process improvements to increase efficiency Provide strategic and operational leadership Work with cross-functional leaders and executive team to coordinate business goals, organizational strategy, budget setting, and project execution Provide cross-functional leadership to validate DSP chipsets in pre/post-silicon system integration environment, qualify compliance and interoperability with networking components, and enable high-volume production testing Enable customer design wins and ramp up in volume, in partnership with Marketing & Sales and application teams

Qualifications

Solid experience building and scaling Systems Engineering teams across multiple sites Proven track record of Optical DSP platform execution and customer enablement Subject-matter expertise in optical system design and characterization, high-speed networking protocols such as Ethernet, Infiniband, and PCIe, PAM4 analog & digital signal processing Working understanding of data center networking infrastructure and high-speed interconnect topologies Practical experience in high-speed HW design, optical components integration, signal and power integrity analysis, thermal analysis, COB assembly Solid background in chip validation and lab debug, system integration and test, compliance and interoperability qualification, and production test bring-up Self-motivated, effective communication skills, and ability to excel in a fast-paced environment Senior leadership, change management, and project management skills MS + 17 years of experience or equivalent, or Ph.D. + 14 years of experience, including 10 years in a senior management role

Compensation And Benefits

MaxLinear has a Total Compensation philosophy which includes base salary and annual discretionary bonus eligibility and many positions also include stock-based compensation.

MaxLinear expects to offer a starting base salary within the range of: $267,400 to $310,000 Annually

The actual starting base salary will be determined by the match to certain role-related criteria such as educational degree(s) or equivalent, relevant work experience, skillset needed for the role, and geographic location; this is not an all-inclusive list as some roles may require unique skills or experience.
