📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
MBP is looking for an Estimator/ Lead Estimator in the US, with significant experience providing cost estimating on vertical and/or horizontal construction projects. Proficient with construction industry cost management software package(s). Additional experience in one or more of the following desired: construction management, CPM scheduling, value engineering, risk management, constructability review, claims analysis, and/or contract administration. Department of Energy experience required, preferably at Los Alamos National Laboratories. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
Main Duties:Performs quantity take-offs, pricing, and estimate deliverable development for multiple trades and in all stages; Pre-Design, Design and Construction.Prepare qualifications and assumptions for estimates.Performs reviews and analysis of contractor and/or designer estimates, with experience in multiple contract delivery methods (GMP, Cost Plus, IDIQ, etc).Develops and/or reviews change order requests.Assists with development and/or analysis of post-construction cost analyses.
Skills and AbilitiesAdditional experience in one or more of the following desired: construction management, CPM scheduling, value engineering, risk management, constructibility review, claims analysis, and/or contract administration.Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non-technical audience.Proficiency in reading/understanding construction plans and specifications.Proficiency with Microsoft Office software programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Proficiency with quantity take-off software programs.Experience working with 3D models and associated software programs preferred.Occasional overnight travel may be required.DOE experience preferred.
EducationMinimum of ten years of estimating experience.B.S. in Engineering, Construction Management or relevant experience which equates to this degree.P.E. license and/or Certified Construction Manager, and/or Certified Cost Professional or Certified Estimating Professional or Certified Professional Estimator certification preferred.
